what level are you at?

Every successful marketing strategy starts with understanding at what level your customers are.

Did you know? There are 5 levels of customer awareness. Each level requires a different approach to win them over.

The 5 levels are:

  • Completely Unaware: They don’t even know they have a problem yet.
  • Problem Aware: They know something’s wrong but don’t know the solution.
  • Solution Aware: They’re looking for options to solve their problem.
  • Product Aware: They know your product but need convincing.
  • Most Aware: They’re ready to buy – you just need to make it easy!

Crafting the right message for each stage is key to turning interest into action.

Now that is great for your marketing, but did you know, it is the same in your business.

Here are the same awareness levels, just for a business owner:

  • Completely Unaware: Don’t even know there is a problem yet.
  • Problem Aware: Know something’s wrong but don’t know the solution.
  • Solution Aware: Looking for options to solve a problem.
  • Product Aware: Know the product but need convincing.
  • Most Aware: Ready to move forward.

When it comes to unblocking sales in your business, you would be on one of those levels.

We did a training session last year with a client for an upcoming expo. During the role play we found they were standing with crossed arms.

Crossed arms typically does not convey an welcoming message, especially at an expo. They were completely unaware.

For another client, they lost the phone they used WhatsApp on. Nobody told management for 3 months. Completely unaware.

In a session with sales people for a client they found that all sales people did quotes differently.

Another client, the sales people left of items out on some quotes, they lost money on each of those sales. And I have many more stories and experiences like these.
